Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten is perhaps most known for its operation along Norway’s western and northern coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. But as world leader in exploration travel, we also offer expedition cruises in Antarctica, Greenland, Iceland, Svalbard, Alaska, Northwest Passage and more.

“The World’s Most Beautiful Sea Voyage”
Hurtigruten is sometimes referred to as the Norwegian Coastal Express. The 11 coastal ships sail almost the entire length of the country, completing the round-trip journey from Bergen to Kirkenes and back again in 12 days, calling 34 ports. The trip along the Norwegian coast has been described as the “World’s Most Beautiful Sea Voyage.” Hurtigruten’s expedition ships MS Fram, MS Midnatsol, MS Spitsbergen, MS Nordstjernen and MS Roald Amundsen offer Explorer voyages to Antarctica, Greenland, Iceland, Spitsbergen, the Americas, Europe and across the Atlantic Ocean.

What We Do

Embarkation screening

We’ve put in place strict embarkation requirements for both guests and crew members. Specific requirements may vary by sailing but may include pre-travel testing, health screening, and requesting proof of vaccination.

New health and safety protocols

In addition to enhanced cleaning and disinfection, we’ve introduced new protocols, including face mask regulations, capacity limitations, and other measures in line with local requirements.

Continuous monitoring to identify risks and take prompt action

We’ll regularly monitor the health of our guests and crew during each cruise. Then, if required, we’ll initiate the robust procedures we’ve established for outbreak prevention and response.

Onboard Medical Center with high-quality care and expertise

We’ve expanded our onboard medical capabilities. Our expedition ships feature a well-equipped Medical Center staffed with a doctor and nurse available at all hours.

What You Do

Northern Light Promise Terms & Conditions

Northern Lights Occurrence is defined as a sighting from the ship which is recorded by the ship’s deck officers and which is announced to passengers on board. An occurrence can last anything from a few minutes to a matter of hours, and the ships decision as to whether the Northern light occurred is final. We hope that you will experience seeing the Northern Lights whilst on your Classic Round Voyages in Norway, although we cannot be held responsible if you don’t. We do however, promise that in the event of there being no Northern Lights Occurrence as defined above on your voyage, we will invite you back to cruise with us once more.
